Steps to Adopt a Horse

You will then be contacted to set up an appointment to see any horse(s) that might be a match.  Please note that horses can only be seen by appointment; we cannot accommodate drop-ins or last minute appointments.

Horse Adoption Agreement

Once healthy and assessed, horses are placed up for adoption to qualified homes. Our adoption fees help to cover the cost of hay, farrier, vet, training and rescuing other horses who are in need. We will adopt out to new owners/caretakers who are the best possible fit based on our assessment.  The adoption fee is considered a donation and is not refundable.

You must agree that under no circumstances shall the Adopted Horse be used for breeding purposes, racing purposes, be sold or transferred for slaughter, or be taken to a livestock auction. You must also agree to use safe, humane, and ethical methods of handling and training when working with the Adopted Horse.

Adopter has the opportunity to have the the Adopted Horse examined by a veterinarian of the adopter's choosing, as the adopted horse is being adopted in its "as is condition".

If an adoption does not work out, Redux encourages the owner to responsibly place the horse in a new home (which must follow Redux's rules) or return the horse to the rescue. Horses can never be sold at auction.

Please request and review the Adoption Agreement and Bill of Sale for further contract conditions.
